Question 1

What does the AI exposure figure mean?

Accepted Answer

It is Jobs and Skills Australia's automation exposure score for this role's occupation group, from Jobs and Skills Australia, Our Gen AI Transition (2025). JSA publishes it from 0 to 1; we show it out of 100. A higher score means more of the group's work is exposed to automation by generative AI. It does not mean the job will disappear. We call a score of 60 or more high exposure, 40 to 59 medium, and under 40 low.

Question 2

How is the salary data sourced?

Accepted Answer

Salary figures come from the ABS Survey of Employee Earnings and Hours, before tax and superannuation. Actual pay varies by employer, location, and experience.

Question 3

What training do I need for this role?

Accepted Answer

Entry requirements vary by employer. Most roles in this pathway value communication skills and relevant work experience over formal qualifications. Free TAFE covers many relevant certificates in most states.

Question 4

How long does it take to transition into this role?

Accepted Answer

Most workers land a role within 8 to 14 weeks of starting their search. The first 2 weeks focus on resume and LinkedIn rewriting. Weeks 3 to 6 are active applications. Weeks 6 to 14 are interviews and offers.

Question 5

Where are the jobs?

Accepted Answer

Most roles are concentrated in Sydney and Melbourne, with growing numbers in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. Regional roles exist but are less common. Seek, LinkedIn, and direct company career pages are the main channels.
