Redundancy payout calculator: what Fair Work says you are owed.
Calculate your NES minimum redundancy pay based on years of service. Fair Work rates, not estimates. Client-side only, no data leaves your browser.
Calculate your entitlement.
This calculator provides an indicative estimate based on the National Employment Standards minimum scale. It is not legal or financial advice. Your actual entitlement depends on your contract, award, or enterprise agreement. Verify at fairwork.gov.au.
52 weeks = 1 year. Count from your start date with this employer.
Base rate before tax. Do not include overtime, bonuses, or allowances.
The redundancy amount in your letter. Leave out notice, leave and other payments.

Enter your weeks of service and gross weekly pay to see your indicative NES redundancy entitlement.
The NES figure is the legal minimum. If you enter your offer, the tax estimate uses it. Your contract, award, or enterprise agreement may provide a higher amount. Notice period, annual leave, and long service leave payouts are not included. The tax estimate uses ATO 2026-27 figures. It does not account for whole-of-income caps or other tax offsets. This is not tax or financial advice. For your specific situation, contact the ATO on 13 28 61 or a registered tax agent. For redundancy entitlements, contact the Fair Work Ombudsman on 13 13 94.
Unions, financial counsellors and HR teams can put this calculator on their own site. Paste this code into your page. It works out the same figures as this page.

Unused annual leave. You can enter it in the tax section above to see the tax on it.
Long service leave. It depends on the law in your state or territory, so check the page for where you work.

For employers
This calculator works out one employee at a time, from their years of service and their weekly pay. The National Employment Standards scale it uses applies to employers with 15 or more employees.
The Career Change Check is free and takes three minutes. It shows Australian roles people from your kind of work have moved into, and the skills you already have for each. You put in your email at the end, and we email you the link when your result is ready.
