What this job is

A Behaviour Support Practitioner assesses why a person with disability is engaging in behaviours that cause harm or restrict their participation in daily life. From that assessment, they develop a written behaviour support plan. The plan guides support workers, families, and other professionals on how to respond. Practitioners also monitor whether strategies are working and update plans over time. Under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission framework, practitioners must be found suitable by the Commission before they can write plans that include restrictive practices.

Pay

A$2,204 a week

This is the median for full-time employees who are not managers and are paid at the adult rate, before tax and salary sacrifice. It is a guide to what the work pays, not a wage rate.
