What this job is
A capital markets specialist creates and carries out strategies to help companies raise capital. The work involves advising companies on issuing shares or taking on debt, valuing businesses, reviewing financial models and research, and negotiating and structuring mergers and acquisitions. Capital markets specialists guide clients through events such as listing on a stock exchange, selling part of a business, or issuing and selling securities. Most work in investment banks and corporate advisory firms, and the work is regulated, so firms usually need an Australian financial services licence from ASIC.
Pay
A$2,651 a week
This is the median for full-time employees who are not managers and are paid at the adult rate, before tax and salary sacrifice. It is a guide to what the work pays, not a wage rate.
