What this job is

A Local Area Coordinator (LAC) works alongside NDIS participants, their families, and carers to help them understand and use their NDIS plans. The core of the role is building connections: between a participant and the right services, between a participant and informal community supports, and between a participant and the broader neighbourhood or social network they want to be part of. LACs do not manage funding directly, but they play a central part in helping people get the most from their plans. The work is relational and practical in equal measure. You are often the first point of contact when something is not working, and you need to know enough about local services, government systems, and individual circumstances to point people in the right direction.

Pay

A$1,844 a week

This is the median for full-time employees who are not managers and are paid at the adult rate, before tax and salary sacrifice. It is a guide to what the work pays, not a wage rate.
