What this job is
A logging plant operator works in plantations and forests, using large machines to harvest trees. Machines such as harvesters, forwarders and skidders hold, cut and lift trees, strip off the branches, cut the trunks into logs and carry them to a landing. The logging plant operator then sorts and stacks the logs and loads them onto log trucks. Operators also keep log tallies, write work reports and look after their machines.
Pay
A$1,403 a week
This is the median for full-time employees who are not managers and are paid at the adult rate, before tax and salary sacrifice. It is a guide to what the work pays, not a wage rate.
