What this job is

Ward Clerks work at the administrative heart of a hospital ward or clinical unit. The core of the role is keeping information flowing accurately between patients, nursing staff, doctors, and other departments. That means processing admissions paperwork, updating patient records, booking tests and procedures, answering phones, and making sure the right files are in the right place at the right time. Ward Clerks are often the first point of contact for patients arriving on a ward, so clear communication and a calm manner matter as much as accuracy.

Pay

A$1,229 a week

This is the median for full-time employees who are not managers and are paid at the adult rate, before tax and salary sacrifice. It is a guide to what the work pays, not a wage rate.
