Day-to-day
On a typical day, you might check incoming items against consignment records. You look at outgoing shipments to make sure they meet the right specs. You also arrange for goods to be moved to the right place inside the facility. When goods go out, you put together the needed documents. At the end of it all, you update records of what came in and what went out.
Who does this now

Is it steady
Shipment tracking, inventory data entry and documentation are increasingly automated in many workplaces. Carrier negotiation, exception handling and cross-team coordination tend to stay human-led.

The honest hard part
Checking items against consignment records takes close attention. A small error in the records can cause problems down the line. Making sure every outgoing shipment meets specs adds another layer of care. Keeping all the paperwork in step with the movement of goods can be demanding.
