Requirements
The standard entry pathway requires a Certificate II or III (ABS skill level 4). Specific qualification requirements vary by employer and state. Some employers may accept equivalent experience. Check yourcareer.gov.au for available courses and dewr.gov.au/skills-reform/free-tafe for subsidised training options.
The honest hard part
You're legally walking a tight line. You can't diagnose, prescribe, or claim to cure serious illnesses without breaking TGA rules. If a client ignores your advice to see a doctor and something goes wrong, you could face complaints. Pay is often modest, retail-based, and can depend heavily on commission from product sales.
Where the jobs are
Some work in day spas or naturopathy practices. Remote work is minimal. Rural areas have fewer options unless you build private practice client base.
