YourCareer: how to find and compare training courses in Australia.
A guide to using YourCareer.gov.au to find registered training organisations, compare courses, and check quality ratings.
What it is.
YourCareer is the Australian Government's directory of vocational education and training (VET) courses. It lists every nationally recognised qualification offered by registered training organisations (RTOs) across Australia. You can search by course name, occupation, location, or provider. Each listing shows the RTO's quality indicator data, student outcomes, and contact details.

Who qualifies.
Anyone can use YourCareer. It is a free public directory. There are no eligibility requirements to search or compare courses. Eligibility for subsidised training (like Free TAFE) depends on your state, your age, your prior qualifications, and whether the course is on your state's priority list.
How to apply.
Go to yourcareer.gov.au. Search for the qualification you want (e.g. Certificate IV in Disability, Diploma of Practice Management). Filter by state and delivery mode (on-campus, online, workplace). Compare providers using the quality indicator data. Contact your chosen RTO directly to enrol. If you are eligible for a government subsidy (Free TAFE, Smart and Skilled, JobTrainer), the RTO will tell you at enrolment.
Limits and gotchas.
YourCareer lists every registered course, including ones with poor completion rates. Always check the quality indicators before enrolling. Look for student satisfaction scores and employment outcomes. Not every listed course is subsidised. The RTO will tell you the out-of-pocket cost at enrolment. Some RTOs offer the same qualification at very different prices and quality levels. Compare at least 3 before deciding.
