Requirements

The standard entry pathway requires a Certificate II or III (ABS skill level 4). Specific qualification requirements vary by employer and state. Some employers may accept equivalent experience. Check yourcareer.gov.au for available courses and dewr.gov.au/skills-reform/free-tafe for subsidised training options.

The honest hard part

You'll spend a lot of time on repetitive admin tasks like uploading posts, entering data, and formatting documents. Pay growth is often limited unless you move up to coordinator or manager roles, which means you're basically doing entry-level work indefinitely if you don't want to supervise others. You also need to learn multiple software platforms (HubSpot, Analytics, Meta Suite) just to be competent.

Where the jobs are

You'll find them across financial services, retail, tech, and healthcare sectors. Remote work is becoming common for parts of the role, but many employers want you on-site for events, team meetings, and material prep at least 2 to 3 days a week.

Pay

A$1,590 a week
