The honest hard part

Income is unstable and often low. Building that client base takes years. Many teachers supplement with retail, private sessions, or corporate gigs. Your body takes a beating from demonstrating poses repeatedly, and shoulder, knee and lower back injuries are common.

Where the jobs are

Regional areas have fewer studios and less steady work. Remote teaching (online classes) has grown since 2020 but usually pays less than in-studio work.
