The honest hard part

The pay ceiling is real and low. Dairy farm work doesn't pay like trades or professional jobs, and moving into senior roles doesn't change that much. You'll work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays because cows need milking every day. The physical toll on your body compounds over years. Plus, dairy farming is under heavy pressure from environmental regulations and volatile milk prices, so job security isn't guaranteed.

Where the jobs are

Practically speaking, you need to live in or relocate to a working dairy area. Remote work doesn't exist in this role. Some farms are consolidating, so competition for senior positions is tighter than it used to be.
