Requirements

The standard entry pathway requires a bachelor degree or higher (ABS Skill Level 1). Specific qualification requirements vary by employer and state. Some employers may accept equivalent experience. Check yourcareer.gov.au for available courses and dewr.gov.au/skills-reform/free-tafe for subsidised training options.

The honest hard part

You need a degree and professional accreditation (usually 3 to 5 years post-grad) before you're properly qualified. Market downturns directly slash your work volume and income.

Where the jobs are

Valuers cluster where property markets are active: major cities dominate. Regional Australia has fewer opportunities. Most work is office-based with site visits; remote work is limited because inspections require physical presence.
