Requirements

The standard entry pathway requires a bachelor degree or higher (ABS Skill Level 1). Specific qualification requirements vary by employer and state. Some employers may accept equivalent experience. The honest hard part

You'll spend most of your time outdoors in all weather, doing physically demanding work like pruning, grafting, and soil preparation. The real trade-off is that pay doesn't scale much as you get better: you're capped by commodity prices and market demand for specialty crops. Biosecurity and APVMA compliance is strict paperwork that takes time away from actual growing. Most roles are seasonal or part-year, making income unpredictable.
